About Us
In March 2001, Toi Patrice Baylor, a physical education teacher, boy's AAU coach and collegiate women's assistant basketball coach established the Baylor Youth Foundation (BYF). The BYF offers a wide range of services and resources to help its affiliates to provide educational, cultural, social, mentoring and recreational programs for youth from ages 5 - 18 years of age. We recognized the necessity to incorporate educational enrichment activities to spark youth curiosity and love of learning. We also recognized the necessity to foster the self-worth of children, to develop their self-esteem and to build character. The Foundation fulfills this mission through its focus on assisting youth; particularly minorities and those disadvantaged by poverty through educational enrichment activities, artistic, cultural and social programs outside their immediate environment. We exposed the children of Indiana, Illinois & Wisconsin areas to so many recruiting opportunities than any other program. Many players have been recruited by Division I & II colleges through our NCAA exposure tournaments, High school Classic and AAU leagues and traveling teams.
VisionThe Baylor Youth Foundation is the urban umbrella organization for the inner city children, which provides services to students to improve their livelihood. We serve the youth of the community through educational and recreational enrichment programs. All activities have as their goal to increase literacy levels in reading, math and computer literacy. This program creates a safe, competitive and character-building environment through recreational enrichment activities includes our yearly AAU Basketball league, traveling teams, camps, exposure tournaments/events, and college assistance programs.
